4-star defensive lineman Nyjalik Kelly commits to Miami

Four-star Fort Lauderdale (Fla.) Dillard defensive lineman Nyjalik Kelly has committed to Miami, he announced Wednesday on National Signing Day.
Kelly is the No. 100 prospect in the 2022 class, according to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He is ranked as the nation’s No. 14 defensive lineman and the No. 14 player in the state of Florida.

The 6-foot-4, 255-pounder chose the Hurricanes over more than 25 other offers, including Oregon, Florida, Florida State and others. He is the Miami’s seventh commit in the 2022 cycle, joining four-stars Khamauri Rogers, Chris Graves, Wesley Bissainthe, and three more commits rated in the top 350 nationally.
Nyjalik Kelly took official visits to Indiana, LSU and Oregon over the summer, as well as one to Florida State earlier this fall. But it was a renewed push from Miami and new head coach Mario Cristobal that ultimately won out.
Nyjalik Kelly Scouting Summary
“Long-limbed defensive lineman with the frame to add substantial mass once in a college strength program. Loose and flexible in his movements with the ability to dip and bend as a pass rusher. Productive while facing some top competition in South Florida. Plays on the edge in high school but is likely to grow into a defensive lineman. Can stand to improve his first step quickness and closing speed. Registers as a solid, not great athlete in the combine setting. Younger for the class.” — Charles Power, On3 Director of Scouting
