Duncanville (Texas) four-star linebacker Colin Simmons has picked up an offer from Miami.

Simmons is the No. 14 overall recruit in the 2024 cycle, according to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.

He currently has an On3 NIL Valuation of $25k. The On3 NIL Valuation is an index that looks to set the standard market value for both high school and college-level athletes. The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time.

Simmons told On3 National Recruiting Analyst Gerry Hamilton that the most important thing in his recruitment is not the people, but the place.

“What I’m looking for is great energy,” Simmons said. “A great vibe. I don’t necessarily want to commit to a coach. I want to commit to a school because football can end any day. I’m going to major in business, so that is big for me. Real estate.”

Simmons has previously said that ArkansasLSU, Oklahoma and Texas are some of the schools standing out to him at this point in time.

The On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine gives the Sooners an early advantage.

“They’ve been in contact calling me almost every day and getting the entire coaching staff on the phone,” Simmons told On3’s Sam Spiegelman. “They told me about how they’d set up the whole schedule for me when I was down there, about how the defense would be set up for me and the linebackers, and how the plays set up the linebackers and the D-ends.”

RPM was released to the public in December. The On3 engineering group teamed up with Spiny.ai to create the industry’s first algorithm and machine learning-based product to predict where athletes will attend college.

It factors in machine learning, expert predictions, social sentiment, visits, and historical trends. However, expert predictions are still a big piece of the RPM equation.
