For the second time in his recruitment, Waukesha (Wisc.) Catholic Memorial four-star offensive tackle Owen Strebig is set to head down to Coral Gables.

The 6-foot-7, 295-pounder will visit Miami on Sunday, according to On3’s Chad Simmons. Strebig has already visited Wisconsin and Notre Dame this month.

On Jan. 17, Miami head coach Mario Cristobal made his way up to Wisconsin alongside OL coach Alex Mirabal to visit Strebig, continuing to show the blue-chip tackle that he’s a priority for the Hurricanes moving forward. That message has been heard loud and clear, as Strebig is returning the favor by making a trip down to the Sunshine State this weekend.

Strebig visited Miami in July. Upon trimming his list of top schools, he discussed what he liked about the Hurricanes and that trip with On3’s Chad Simmons:

“I really think there’s a lot of opportunity out there,” Strebig said. “The visit I took was probably one of my favorite visits I’ve had in my recruitment because of the way the staff talked to me. We were able to talk ball and talk about life. They just keep trending up.”

At the end of 2023, Strebig made his first cut of schools, trimming his list to a dozen. Miami is joined by FloridaFlorida StateIllinoisIowaMichiganMissouriNotre DameUCFUSC and Wisconsin. Notre Dame has had him on campus the most, while the Gators and in-state Badgers are among those who have had him in for multiple visits.

Strebig is the No. 125 overall prospect, No. 12 OT and No. 1 player in Wisconsin in the 2025 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.

Hurricanes looking to build another elite class in 2025

Mario Cristobal and the Canes once again excelled on the recruiting trail and currently own the No. 5 class in the 2024 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Team Recruiting Rankings. So far in 2025, Miami has a trio of pledges.

Kissimmee (Fla.) Osceola four-star linebacker Elijah Melendez is the latest and highest-ranked recruit to join the fold, doing so on Dec. 16. He’s the No. 120 overall prospect and No. 14 LB in the On3 Industry Ranking.

He’s flanked by Boynton Beach (Fla.) Palm Beach Central four-star wide receiver Waden Charles and Alpharetta (Ga.) Milton three-star quarterback Luke Nickel. Charles is also a top-300 recruit, while Nickel checks in as the No. 33 signal-caller in the cycle.
