Michigan OT Andrew Babalola was lost for the season before it even began with a knee injury he suffered during fall camp. Sherrone Moore has now provided the latest on the true freshman tackle.

During his press conference on Monday, Moore shared that Babalola has had the surgery on his knee after tearing his ACL back in August. He said that the procedure was a “super successful” one with the freshman lineman now rehabbing.

“Yeah, he did. It was super successful. So, excited for him to start recovering and get back,” said Moore. “But, yeah. He’s in a great place. Thanks for asking.”

Babalola was one of the top incoming prospects in the country this year, as he was the second-best signee for the maize & blue in this past cycle behind only QB Bryce Underwood. He, after attending high school at Blue Valley Northwest, was the No. 18 overall recruit and a five-star in the 2025 recruiting class. He also rated as the No. 1 player out of Kansas, as a native of Overland Park, and as the No. 3 offensive tackle. That’s per Rivals’ Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.

With that, Babalola was in the competition to be the starter at left tackle, and would have seen snaps regardless on the line, this fall for the Wolverines after standing out in the preseason. That was before injuring that knee, though, in mid-August, with OT Evan Link now holding that position on their offensive line.

It remains to be seen how long that Babalola will be out in his recovery post-op. Still, the good news now is that the promising offensive lineman is well coming out of that knee surgery.
