Daxton Hill is a big mover for Mel Kiper ahead of 2022 NFL Draft

Now that the NFL combine has come and gone, draft experts over at ESPN are breaking down player performances and updating their mock draft boards. One player in particular that had an impressive showing was former Michigan Wolverines defensive back Daxton Hill. The former Wolverine showed off his speed and agility, catching the eye of draft expert Mel Kiper jr. On Monday, Kiper could not help himself from heaping praise upon Hill after his combine performance.
“I look at a guy like Daxton Hill. When you talked about him, to run the way he did, he’s got the length, he made plays in variety of ways at Michigan. The way they utilized him in that defensive scheme, I gotta believe that Daxton hill may have worked his way into the late first round. Someone had him there; I was kind of thinking more second round…, “ said Kiper.
Hill posted a 4.38-second 40-yard dash time. That stood as the sixth-fastest among cornerbacks and the 14th-fastest out of any player at the combine. His times on the three-cone drill (6.57 seconds) and 20-yard shuttle (4.06 seconds), were the top out of the safeties.
“I mean, he does everything you want. A coordinator is going to see a guy with tremendous versatility. And to be as fluid and his athletic and as long as he is, and the experience that he has; like I said intercepting passes, getting after the quarterback, covering in the slot. He’s done it all.

“Since J. Ira and Nicki Harris Family Head Football Coach Jim Harbaugh took over in 2015, the football program has traveled overseas for educational opportunities on three occasions,” the release reads.
This isn’t the first time Michigan will be doing something like this. The Wolverines spent a week in Rome, Italy in 2017, visited Paris, France and Normandy in 2018, and traveled to Cape Town and Johannesburg, South Africa, in 2019, according to the release.
“Harbaugh believes that not all learning is done in a classroom and that these trips serve not only to educate the players about the customs and lifestyles of other cultures and areas, but also provide the opportunity to give back to those local areas.”
Harbaugh turned Michigan around this season, taking the Wolverines from a 2-4 2020 record to a 12-1 2021 record. And also lead the program’s first-ever appearance in the College Football Playoff. Unfortunately, Michigan fell to Georgia in the Orange Bowl on New Year’s Eve.
