Michigan football injury updates: Sherrone Moore reveals status of multiple Michigan players after bye

Michigan must be coming out of the bye week with a fresh approach. Sherrone Moore is set to be on the sidelines against Wisconsin, the first time in three weeks. The Wolverines went without their head coach for two games and then sat at home during a bye week.
But there are other guys getting back in the mix after being injured. Moore provided updates on multiple players during his latest press conference, providing positive news on them all. He says the program’s top goal during the bye week was to make sure everyone on the roster got back to full health.
“Feel really good about where we are,” Moore said. “That was the No. 1 goal this week, to get guys healthy, get guys back. Feel like Gio (Giovanni El-Hadi) is in a good place, Brady (Norton) is in a good place, Hogan (Hansen) is in a good place. We’ll see how he’s doing throughout the week because it’s all — I don’t ever predict it. But feel like we’re trending in the right direction with all those guys. Same with Jyaire (Hill).”
Of the names mentioned, Hill is the only defensive player. El-Hadi and Norton are both offensive linemen, while Hansen plays at tight end. Quarterback Bryce Underwood likely gets back two big humans up front to block for him and a potential weapon in the pass game.
Sherrone Moore provides injury update on freshman offensive tackle Andrew Babalola
Michigan did a great job bringing in some top freshman talent last offseason. Contributors were expected throughout the class, specifically offensive tackle Andrew Babalola. However, before the season could even begin, Babalola went down with a major injury.

Surgery wound up being required due to a torn ACL. Moore also took time to reveal the surgery was successful for Babalola, now working on the early stages of his rehab process.
“Yeah, he did. It was super successful,” Moore said. “So, excited for him to start recovering and get back. But, yeah. He’s in a great place. Thanks for asking.”
Babalola played high school football at Overland Park (KS) Blue Valley Northwest, where he was a five-star prospect. He was the No. 16 overall recruit in the 2025 cycle, according to the Rivals Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. Hopefully, Babalola winds up making an impact during his second season in Ann Arbor.
