Umpires issue ejections to two from Mississippi State in regional final loss

In a tense Tallahassee Regional final matchup between Florida State and Mississippi State, multiple ejections came after disputes with the umpires. Each team had members ejected.
Florida State coach Link Jarrett was tossed in the second inning after arguing a check swing call. He wouldn’t be the last.
The strike zone from the umpires was questionable throughout the evening, and multiple times coaches came out to argue calls. Even when the game seemed relatively well in hand, the umpires were still tossing out ejections.
Mississippi State had two team members tossed in the final frame. First, player Noah Sullivan earned an ejection after what seemed to be a particularly egregious Strike 3 call in the top of the ninth inning. He wouldn’t be the last ejection in the inning.
Moments later, assistant coach Jake Gautreau was ejected after arguing another call. Mississippi State would come up empty in the final frame, falling 5-2. But not without some insult added to injury.
Link Jarrett ejection
Florida State manager Link Jarrett was tossed from the regional final matchup against Mississippi State after arguing a call. The Seminoles coach had previously taken issue with the crew’s calls in the game.
After Mississippi State appealed to the third base umpire for a strikeout call in the first inning, a similar setup played out in the second inning. It would ultimately result in Link Jarrett’s ejection.

Florida State had a runner at third base and two outs when designated hitter James Hankerson headed to the plate. After battling off a few pitches, he had worked a 2-2 count.
Then he appeared to check his swing on a ball in the dirt. Mississippi State once again appealed down to the third base umpire, who ruled it a strike swinging. Jarrett instantly came out onto the field.
Within a few seconds, he was up in an umpire’s face, disputing the calls. He seemed relatively constrained, but that was about to change.
After a minute or so of hearing Link Jarrett’s pitch, an umpire tossed him from the game. At that point, Jarrett went apoplectic, going after two different officials. He eventually was ejected and headed out from the field. You can view the entire sequence here.
