Zach Arnett lists Will Rogers as 'day-to-day' for Texas A&M game

Mississippi State has been without starting quarterback Will Rogers for multiple games now. Mike Wright has been the main guy in his absence, resulting in just one win over three contests. But now, there is hope that Rogers could get back on the field on Saturday against Texas A&M.
Head coach Zach Arnett gave the latest update on Rogers, who has been dealing with a shoulder injury. He was described as “day-to-day” but at the end of the day, the Mississippi State medical team will make the final decision. For the most part, it’s similar to the quarterback’s status from Monday.
“No new update,” Arnett said during Wednesday’s SEC Coaches Teleconference. “Obviously, we have a few more days until game time. So, several more practice opportunities. The medical experts will make a final determination on his availability. So, day to day would be the right terminology for that.”
Rogers has played in just six games this season, throwing 1,275 yards, 10 touchdowns, and just four interceptions. He has been in the program for quite some time and really stepped into a leadership role when hard times fell on the program.
There has been a ton of success in Rogers’ career when going up against Texas A&M. In his last two games, he has a combined 737 yards and six touchdowns. Mississippi State has wound up on the winning end both times as well, being a matchup they have enjoyed.

Zach Arnett has backup plan if Will Rogers cannot play vs. Texas A&M
Everyone in Starkville will be hoping he can get back on the field. However, Arnett does still have a plan if Rogers is not available. As mentioned, Wright has been the main replacement but Chris Parson was able to get playing time last week against Kentucky.
Arnett says you expect to see both Parson and Wright on Saturday in case Rogers is not deemed healthy enough to play.
“If he’s unavailable to go? I have no doubt you’ll see both quarterbacks in the game,” Arnett said. “Their reps will reflect that accordingly in practice all week. Then the final game plan and situation, obviously, kind of determines who’s in there on that particular play.”
A decision is likely coming later in the week. Kickoff is scheduled for Saturday night at 6:30 p.m. CT in College Station, where both teams will be looking to get back on the right track.
