Missouri quarterback Beau Pribula is expected to miss the remainder of the regular season with an ankle injury, per On3’s Pete Nakos. Pribula is still awaiting results of the MRI, but the team believes he suffered a dislocated ankle in Saturday’s loss to Vanderbilt.

Tigers coach Eli Drinkwitz also revealed that the Pribula did not suffer any broken bones. The QB suffered the injury in the third quarter of the eventual 17-10 loss to the Commodores.

“Beau has no broken bones, but he did have an ankle injury that had to be popped back in,” Drinkwitz said. “Don’t have a timetable for his return, but it could be awhile.”

On the play where Pribula was injured, Missouri opted to go for it on fourth-and-goal from the 2-yard line. Pribular took it himself but was stuffed at the goal line and his leg got caught up as he went to the ground, appearing to bend awkwardly.

The starting quarterback was placed into an air cast and loaded into a cart to get him off the field. He was then helped into a wheelchair on the sidelines.

Beau Pribula had gone 9-of-14 passing for 68 yards, with no touchdowns and no interceptions in the contest, prior to his exit. He had also run four times for 10 yards.

Pribula transferred to Missouri this offseason after playing the first three seasons of his college career at Penn State. He won the starting job in the offseason and entered Saturday’s contest having thrown for 1,617 yards and 11 touchdowns to seven interceptions. He has also run for 210 yards and five scores.

Matt Zollers stepped up in place of Pribula on Saturday and should be expected to remain the Tigers’ starting QB for as long as he is out. Zollers finished the contest 14-of-23 passing for 138 yards and a touchdown.

With the loss, Missouri dropped to 6-2 (2-2 SEC) on the season. That makes the next few weeks critical, and it looks like they’ll have to get through them without Pribula for the foreseeable future.

Thankfully, the Tigers have a bye next week that should allow the offense some time to grow comfortable with Zollers and vice versa. Mizzou next takes on No. 3 Texas A&M on Nov. 8.
