Missouri guard Tre Gomillion to miss SEC Tournament game vs. Alabama

Missouri will be down one of its better defenders today against Alabama in the SEC Tournament semifinals. According to college hoops insider Jon Rothstein, Tiger wing Tre Gomillion will not suit up against the Crimson Tide. Here was Rothstein’s report, which he posted to Twitter:
“Missouri’s Tre Gomillion (groin) is OUT for today’s SEC Tournament game against Alabama, per a school spokesman. Averages 4.8 PPG and 2.8 RPG.”
Missouri defeated Tennessee yesterday and got nine minutes out of Gomillion, who failed to record a stat aside from the four personal fouls he picked up. Today, he’ll watch from the bench as he tries to recover and get back on the court for the Tigers’ NCAA Tournament games next weekend.
Missouri confidence sky-high after Tennessee win
Missouri started the SEC Tournament with a tough game against Tennessee, but the Tigers seemed to pick up the pace in the later stages of the game while the Volunteers faltered.
Stars D’Moi Hodge and Kobe Brown combined for 50 points in the 79-71 win and left a definite message to everyone else watching.

“That we’re here,” Brown said postgame. “We don’t back down from nobody, we’re here to play everybody and everybody can get it.”
The Tigers made 10 3-pointers, a figure perhaps not as impressive as how some of them came. Missouri just couldn’t seem to miss in key moments late, and some of the 3-point attempts came from well beyond the arc.
Brown credited his teammates for getting him and Hodge, who drained seven of the 10 3-pointers, really quality looks in the SEC Tournament quarterfinal.
“Electric. Electric,” Hodge said. “You know me and D’Moi we work together all the time, work out together. But it’s really our teammates that get us the ball, they get us in the right positions, so it’s all kudos to them.”
