Missouri freshman running back Marquise Davis plans to enter the NCAA Transfer Portal, per On3’s Pete Nakos.

Davis played in three games for the Tigers this season, rushing for 200 yards on 34 carries. He found the end zone in games against Central Arkansas and Louisiana.

The Cleveland native was the No. 193 overall prospect and No. 14 RB in the 2025 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He was the No. 7 ranked player in Ohio and originally committed to Kentucky, but flipped to Missouri on Dec. 1, 2024.

Davis was Missouri‘s fourth leading rusher this season, behind All-SEC First Team back Ahmad Hardy, Jamal Roberts, and quarterback Beau Pribula. Carving out a role this season would have been extremely tough for Davis, as Hardy was one of the best running backs in football. The Louisiana-Monroe transfer rushed for 1,560 yards (second most in NCAA) and 16 touchdowns and should be back in Columbia next fall.

It was an interesting season for Missouri, which opened the year with a 5-0 record heading into a marquee home matchup against No. 8 Alabama. The Tigers fell to the Crimson Tide 27-24, kicking off the first of three losses over their next four games. Missouri‘s schedule however shook out nicely, as it won two of its final three games against lowly Mississippi State and Arkansas. Eli Drinkwitz‘s program finished with an 8-4 record and will face off against ACC runner-up No. 19 Virginia in the TaxSlayer Gator Bowl.
