Notre Dame checked every box for Jaden Greathouse

“What really pulled me was the degree it sets you up for success outside of football too and the football is amazing,” Greathouse said. “They had a great season last year and I expect an even better season with this new coaching staff. Me and the other recruits are going to change college football with this 2023 and 2024 recruiting class, and I expect a couple of national championships. I believe they will develop me to be the next great in the league.”

Strong relationships with coaching staff

“My relationship with the coaching staff is great,” Greathouse said. “It’s been awesome from the start. I’m definitely closest with the wide receiver coach, coach Stuckey. We talk daily and it’s always great conversations, but I’m really close with coach Reece and coach freeman too. They are all great people and it’s always a good time when we’re together.”

Notre Dame’s plan for Greathouse

“They definitely plan on using me a bunch,” Greathouse said. “Moving me around and trying to find the best mismatch possible. As well as get me the ball as much as possible and use me early.”

Jaden Greathouse Scouting Summary

“Ultra productive two-sport superstar who has dominated on the basketball court and the gridiron in Texas’ highest classification throughout his high school career,” On3’s Director of Scouting Charles Power wrote. “Starter at wide receiver for national high school powerhouse Austin Westlake since he was a freshman. Three-time state champion in football that totalled 66 catches for 1,274 yards and 20 touchdowns as a junior. Helped lead the basketball team to a state semifinals appearance where they lost in double overtime during his junior season. Body control and contortion are elite for his size. Has the rare ability to shape and manipulate his body in order to be in the best possible position to catch every ball thrown at him. Savvy route runner that gets in and out of his breaks effortlessly.”

“Can see the basketball vertical ability translate to the field in going up to win 50-50 balls. Physical blocker in the run game. A bigger-bodied receiver who was close to 220 pounds as a sophomore. Lacks top end speed to scare defenders vertically. One of the most natural receivers in the country. Speed and ability to separate will be the biggest challenge for him at the next level. Has the advanced route running ability and physicality in order to thrive at the next level. High floor player who should heavily produce in college and potentially work himself onto NFL draft boards.”
Greathouse ranks as the No. 128 player in the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that accounts for all four major recruiting sites. He also tabs in as the No. 21 wide receiver and the No. 21 player in the state of Texas.
