Marcus Freeman reveals what standard will be at Notre Dame

The hiring of Marcus Freeman is drawing rave reviews from Notre Dame fans and experts alike. The coach has done all the right things since joining the Fighting Irish coaching staff, and now he’ll have the unquestioned support of his players as their leader.
One of the most important things to Notre Dame is their standard of greatness. In his introductory press conference, Freeman revealed what his standard will be for his team.
“I got to be myself, and that’s what I told them,” Freeman responded, when asked how he convinced the Notre Dame brass to have confidence in him. “Here’s the things that I believe we can do to raise the level and raise the standard, but I’m going to do it the only way I know how — and that’s being myself. Doing it as a teammate. That’s doing it with others.
“We’re going to achieve greatness as a group. As a team. And they accepted it. And that’s what we’re going to do. We’re going to do this thing together as a team.”
Evidently, Freeman won’t settle for anything less than putting in the work. As he attempts to build the program in his likeness, the Fighting Irish look to be in good hands.
Freeman: ‘Now that I’m here, we’re close.’
Furthermore, Marcus Freeman has one goal as the new head coach of Notre Dame. The man wants to to bring national championships to South Bend.

Freeman played college football at Ohio State, but he held an offer to attend Notre Dame. He was in his first year as Notre Dame’s defensive coordinator before being hired as the team’s next head coach.
“As a recruit, I mean it’s 2000, 2002 or 2003. You hadn’t won one, but you still knew the history and tradition behind Notre Dame and you probably thought every year that Notre Dame had a chance to win it,” Freeman said of the program’s chances at a national championship. “As an outsider before I got here, I mean Notre Dame was in the playoffs two of the past three years before I got here.
“So if you’re making the playoffs, you have a chance to win it all. Now that I’m here, we’re close. We’re not there yet, but we’re close and it can be done right away. We’re not talking about a future, long-term plan. This is talking about the urgency I said for now. To finish the season off and then next year we have to have intentional efforts to make sure we’re doing whatever it takes to put this team in a position to win a national championship.”
Marcus Freeman won the press conference. However, there’s no reason to think the Notre Dame coach won’t be a tremendous head coach for the Fighting Irish.
