Notre Dame baseball coach Link Jarrett led the Fighting Irish to the College World Series this season and performed well all postseason before falling to Texas A&M on Tuesday. Shortly after the season-ending loss, he addressed his future with the team and a potential return to his alma mater after the Florida State job opened up this offseason.

During his postgame press conference, Link Jarrett spoke with reporters about where his mind is regarding any potential offseason decision about Notre Dame or Florida State. He did not appear in the mood to reveal anything on the topic.

“My mind has not gone to that place,” said Jarrett, via On3’s Tyler Horka. “And I’m not going there with it right now.”

The connections between Link Jarrett and Florida State are fairly obvious, with him playing shortstop for the program from 1991-94. In addition, he is a Tallahassee, Florida native who returned there under Mike Martin in 2003 as an assistant coach.

Jarrett took over at Notre Dame in 2020 after a successful run at UNC Greensboro. He has built an 84-30 record with his team over three seasons and made a Super Regional in 2021 before the College World Series appearance in 2022. The 2020 postseason was cancelled during the COVID-19 pandemic.
