Fast-rising CB Calvin Simpson-Hunt offered by Ohio State
Waxahachie (Texas) cornerback and Texas Tech commit Calvin Simpson-Hunt has added an offer from Ohio State, he announced Wednesday night.
He is the No. 197 prospect in the 2023 class, according to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He also ranks as the nation’s No. 23 cornerback and the No. 35 junior prospect in Texas.
On3 is higher on Simpson-Hunt than the other three major recruiting sites though, according to the Industry Comparison. In the most recent On300 rankings, he was tabbed as the nation’s No. 108 prospect, No. 13 cornerback and No. 18 player in the Lone Star State.
The 6-foot, 175-pounder chose the Red Raiders in November, who were his only Power Five offer at that point. Since then, LSU, Oregon, Stanford, Vanderbilt, and Louisville are among the dozen or so teams that have entered the mix. Just this week alone, Simpson-Hunt picked up offers from Notre Dame and Texas. And he is also scheduled to visit LSU tomorrow. He is also expected to visit Florida later this month.
