Julian Sayin‘s Heisman Trophy stock is soaring, and Joel Klatt is buying in. On Monday, the FOX Sports analyst raved about the Ohio State sophomore quarterback.

“Julian Sayin is an incredible player,” Klatt said. “Everything that he does, it’s controlled, accurate. He does it with urgency. He’s very smart. His eyes are always in the right spot. When you’re watching him on film, the ball is always in the right spot. When I talk with opposing defensive coordinators, they all marvel at his quick release.

Jim Knowles, in this respect, the defensive coordinator from Penn State, talked about how quick he processes and his release. They say he might even process information quicker than he releases the football. So all of those things are incredible, which starts to lead us to this Heisman discussion, because Julian Sayin right now, is your betting favorite to win the Heisman.”

Sayin has only improved as the season has progressed. The budding star was pinpoint accurate in Ohio State’s 34-14 win over Penn State on Saturday. Sayin completed 20-of-his-23 pass attempts for 316 yards and four touchdowns, without throwing an interception.

Sayin boasts 2,188 passing yards and 23 touchdowns this season, compared to just three interceptions. Moreover, he has completed a ridiculous 80.7% of his pass attempts, the best in the nation. For reference, Shedeur Sanders led the country last season with a 74.0% completion percentage.

Sayin’s individual success has translated to wins. Ohio State is 8-0 this season and hasn’t allowed a team to finish within single digits of it since its season-opening 14-7 win over Texas.

“This guy gets it done,” Klatt said. “It’s the most elite passing game in college football, and that even takes into consideration Alabama, which is an elite passing team. They can throw it wherever they want, down the field, short, they’ve got tight ends. They can throw it to the backs. This guy is really, really good, really good.”

According to BetMGM, Sayin is the favorite to win the Heisman Trophy this season with +175 odds. Indiana QB Fernando Mendoza has the second-best odds, sitting at +225.
