In case you were wondering, Paul Finebaum still isn’t a fan of Ohio State. On Friday, a viewer called into Finebaum’s show and began ranting about Buckeyes fans. Before the caller could even finish airing his complaints, Finebaum was joining in on the insults.

“I don’t mean to jump on your call, Eddie, but let’s let me do this. Can I, if you would indulge me?” Finebaum said. “You said Ohio State fans are usually loud. What else? Arrogant?

“Let me jump in here, because before I did what I do now, I was a writer. I’d like to add a few words if you don’t mind: Obnoxious, disgusting, despicable — you already said whiny. I would like to add sniveling, supercilious.”

Finebaum’s disdain for the team in Columbus, Ohio, is nothing new. Before this season began, Finebaum claimed the Buckeyes’ spot at No. 3 in the AP Poll was too high. Finebaum has also been hyper-critical of Ohio State head coach Ryan Day in the past.

“Anyone who thinks Ryan Day is one of the two or three best coaches in the country is foolish,” Finebaum said this summer. “He is a good CEO. But I think that you have seen multiple instances, Georgia three years ago, Michigan the last four years, where he looks completely clueless on the football field.”

Day certainly didn’t look clueless in January when he led the Buckeyes to their first national title since 2014. Alas, that didn’t stop Finebaum from downplaying the talent on this year’s Ohio State team.

In fairness to Finebaum, he reversed course on his criticism toward Day after Ohio State downed Texas in Week 1. However, the SEC Network host hasn’t changed his tune on OSU fans.

Of course, Ohio State fans may not have to hear Finebaum weigh in on sports much longer. On Sept. 29, OutKick reported the popular pundit is considering running for Senate in Alabama. If he chooses to run, Finebaum will have to officially enter the race by January.

“One or two people in Washington had reached out to me about whether I would be interested in politics, something I never thought about before. Something I didn’t really think possible,” Finebaum said. “… I gave some thought to it as the [after Charlie Kirk’s murder] weekend unfolded and got a little bit more interested.”

On Saturday, Ohio State will look to silence Paul Finebaum when it squares off against No. 17 Illinois at noon ET. The game will air live on FOX.
