4-star OU offensive line commit Jake Taylor: ‘100% committed’

After this morning, there’s zero doubt about Jake Taylor’s status as an Oklahoma Sooner commitment.
Taylor, the four-star offensive tackle commitment from Las Vegas Bishop Gorman, reaffirmed his commitment to the Sooners in a tweet early Friday morning.
“Just wanted to say thank you for all of the birthday wishes yesterday,” Taylor said in the tweet. “It ended with a great night with (OU assistant) DeMarco Murray. I told him that I am still, and always will be, 100% committed to the University of Oklahoma.”
Taylor shared a photo of the in-home visit with Murray, who is also a Las Vegas native and Bishop Gorman graduate.
There had been some speculation that other schools – namely USC where Lincoln Riley is now at – would target Taylor. But that thought is without a doubt nipped in the bud now.
Jake Taylor big part of OU’s class
The news of Jake Taylor saying he’s all in is big for the Sooners. Taylor is the fourth-highest-ranked recruit in OU’s 2022 class. He’s also the top offensive line commitment, and the offensive line is an important position of need in the OU class.

Taylor ranks as the No. 95 player in the country, according to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. On3 ranks him as the 52nd-best player in the country and the No. 5 offensive tackle overall.
Keeping Taylor on board could also help the Sooners with other top Las Vegas area targets like running back Jovantae Barnes of Desert Pines. Barnes was heavily leaning toward the Sooners before the coaching change in Norman, and he’s waiting to see what direction the Sooners go with their head coaching position.
Taylor was and will also be a big-time recruiter among the top targets the Sooners will go after once the new head coach is named.
