Oklahoma is among the programs charging hard for Lewisville (Texas) five-star offensive tackle Michael Fasusi.

The 6-foot-4.5, 285-pounder has taken a bevy of trips to Norman throughout his recruitment and returned again this week as Brent Venables and Co. look to land a pledge from one of the top trench monsters in the 2025 cycle:

Fasusi also visited last month and has locked in a June 14 official visit with the new SEC program. At the beginning on April, Oklahoma made Fasusi’s top seven schools, along with USCOregonTexas A&MMissouriGeorgia and Texas. The Sooners are among the top of that pack.

“Missouri, (Texas) A&M, (Oklahoma) and Texas, I’m really tight with those schools,” Fasusi told On3 in March. “So, I think I’m getting to that spot where it’s getting hard to choose. It’s a battle, for sure.”

“We’re all still in a tight space. My relationship with coach Bedenbaugh and coach [Brent] Venables is still tight,” Fasusi told Sooner Scoop. “They are still on top of the list, for sure.”

Fasusi is the No. 19 overall prospect and No. 5 OT in the 2025 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He’s also the No. 6 player in Texas.

It’s the in-state Longhorns that currently have the edge for Fasusi, according to the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine (RPM). Last month, Longhorns insider Eric Nahlin logged a pick in favor of Texas. Fasusi has also recently logged positive visits to Missouri and Georgia.

Oklahoma Class Breakdown

Despite it only being April, Oklahoma already is off to a strong start, with 13 total commitments — seven of whom rank as four-star prospects — and a No. 11 ranking in the On3 Industry Team Recruiting Rankings.

Offense and in-state targets were the focus early on in the 2025 cycle for OU, with five of their first nine commitments hailing from the Sooner State and seven expected to play on offensive at the next level. Co-offensive coordinator Seth Littrell has his quarterback with four-star Kevin Sperry out of the Oklahoma City area.

His pledge has helped spur on a string of receiver commitments, led by in-state four-star Elijah Thomas Texas-based three-star Gracen Harris. The Sooners added another key piece to the puzzle on March 29 with the addition of four-star running back Tory Blaylock, who chose OU over Texas, Ohio State and a number of others.

On the defensive side, the Sooners have three early commitments from linebacker Marcus James, EDGE Alexander Shieldnight and defensive lineman Ka’Mori Moore. They’ve added to that in a big way in the past week, landing commitments from four-star defensive lineman Trent Wilson, four-star cornerback Maliek Hawkins, and three-star safety Marcus Wimberly.
