Las Vegas sets Oklahoma win total odds entering 2022 at 9.5

With the 2022 college football season just a few months away, the win total odds are officially out for the Oklahoma Sooners. According to VegasInsider, the over/under on OU victories is 9.5 after they won 11 games this past season.
Oklahoma is one of many programs entering 2022 with a new head coach after hiring Clemson defensive coordinator Brent Venables to replace Lincoln Riley this offseason. The Sooners also lost two former five-star quarterbacks in Caleb Williams and Spencer Rattler, but brought in UCF transfer Dillon Gabriel as a replacement.
Oklahoma had the highest win total odds of any Big 12 team, with Oklahoma State and Texas tying for second at 8.5. Last season’s conference champion, Baylor, was not among the schools listed according to Vegas Insider. The Bears were the first team other than Oklahoma to claim the conference crown since 2014, snapping a six-year streak.
The Sooners now have three more seasons in the Big 12 before they are expected to join the SEC in 2025.

Oklahoma opens up the seasons with a pair of winnable contests against UTEP and Kent State. After that, the Sooners turn their attention to a former Big 12 rival in Nebraska on Sept. 17 for their final nonconference matchup. It will be just the second game between the two teams since the Cornhuskers left the conference in 2011. OU holds a 46-38-3 all-time advantage in the series, including a 23-16 victory from this past season.
As for the Big 12 schedule, the Sooners will host Kansas State on Sept. 24 to kick off conference play. The annual Red River Rivalry game against Texas is scheduled for Oct. 8, and Oklahoma also has home games against Oklahoma State (Nov. 19) and Baylor (Nov. 5). It’s a fairly favorable schedule, as the toughest road matchup is an Oct. 27 date with Iowa State.
