Oklahoma offers 2024 4-star EDGE Dakyus Brinkley

Katy (Texas) Seven Lakes four-star EDGE Dakyus Brinkley received an offer from Oklahoma on Wednesday. He announced the news over social media.

Brinkley is the No. 180 overall prospect and No. 16 EDGE in the 2024 cycle, according to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He is also the No. 29 player in Texas.

On3 rates Brinkley higher than other recruiting services, according to the Industry Comparison. Per the 2024 On300, he is the No. 163 overall prospect and No. 15 EDGE in the country.

The 6-foot-3, 215-pound pass rusher holds 10 offers. According to the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine, Texas is leading for his commitment at 48.6%.

RPM was released to the public in December. The On3 engineering group teamed up with Spiny.ai to create the industry’s first algorithm and machine learning-based product to predict where athletes will attend college. 

It factors in machine learning, social sentiment, visits and historical trends. However, expert predictions are still a big piece of the RPM equation.

The Sooners have no commitments in their 2024 recruiting class. Meanwhile, Oklahoma’s 2023 class contains 25 high school pledges and is No. 7 in the 2023 On3 Consensus Team Recruiting Rankings, as well as No. 2 in the Big 12.

Brinkley has an On3 NIL Valuation of $12.2K. The On3 NIL Valuation is the industry’s leading index that sets high school and college athletes’ projected annual value (PAV). The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time.
