Booger McFarland reacts to Ole Miss win over OU, predicts 4-0 finish

No. 8 Ole Miss improved to 7-1 (4-1) on the season Saturday afternoon with a 34-26 road victory over No. 13 Oklahoma. The Rebels have now won two games against ranked opponents this season and look well on their way to clinching a berth in the College Football Playoff for the first time in program history.
Looking ahead at Ole Miss‘ remaining schedule, it will face South Carolina (home), The Citadel (home), Florida (home) and Mississippi State (road) over the remaining four weeks of the regular season. If it can run the table, it will finish with a 7-1 record in conference play for the first time 2003.
Following the Rebels’ win, ESPN‘s Booger McFarland gave his prediction that he thinks Ole Miss will indeed finish the regular season at 11-1 (7-1).
“It’s a very, very favorable schedule,” McFarland said. “Florida’s already fired their coach. South Carolina can’t protect LaNorris Sellers, and then you’ve got the Egg Bowl (against Mississippi State). I think right now, I would have to take money and put it on Ole Miss finishing the rest of those four games undefeated.”
Kiffin addressed Florida rumors prior to Oklahoma game
It took five full seasons, but it appears as if Lane Kiffin has finally gotten the Ole Miss program to the tier that he and administration wanted it to be at: College Football Playoff caliber. Programs around the country certainly have taken notice, as many have linked Kiffin to the Florida head coaching vacancy after it parted ways with Billy Napier last week.

Riding on this season’s success, Kiffin reportedly planned to address the Florida rumors with his team ahead of Saturday’s game. He was asked about the situation on Saturday’s morning’s ‘SEC Nation‘ live from Norman.
“I just mentioned it to them [Friday],” Kiffin said. “That’s a product of having a program with a lot of players and coaches doing a really good job. I probably wouldn’t even have mentioned it, because they’ve been through this every year.”
“Probably four years in a row, but we have so many new guys. I just told them, ‘Hey guys, that’s what happens around here because we win games and people like the style that we play in. ‘ That’s all a compliment to the players.”
Enjoying one of his best season’s ever as a head coach, Kiffin just needs to softly land the plane if he wants to coach in the College Football Playoff (as a head coach) for the first time ever.
