Lane Kiffin explains cartoon bee on his Twitter/X profile picture

Lane Kiffin explained an interesting cartoon bee that can be seen on his profile picture on his Twitter/X account. It’s simply a picture of Kiffin walking, but a cartoon bee is over his shoulder.
Ever the character, Kiffin was a little more reserved about the question at SEC Media Days. Frankly, he forgot it was there.
As he said, it was from his Tennessee days, so perhaps he’s just kept it all this time and hasn’t given his picture a second thought. But at the time, it seemed to be a very thoughtful gesture and Kiffin’s left the bee up since.
“I forgot about that,” Kiffin said. “That was actually a Tennessee fan and something to her daughter that was really impactful and a story, I remember reading it … so it was something about that. Forgot about that.”
Kiffin’s had a successful tenure at Ole Miss, long removed from his lone year at Tennessee as head coach in 2009. He’s 44-18 with the Rebels since 2020 and has three 10-plus win seasons.
There’s been whispers that Kiffin could leave for a bigger SEC job, particularly over the last couple of years. Heck, there were even Florida rumors if the Gators had moved on from Billy Napier.
One guy Kiffin took a shot at was Paul Finebaum. The ESPN host has consistently talked about hypotheticals regarding Kiffin leaving Ole Miss for a different location.

Kiffin sat down with Finebaum on his show while at SEC Media Days in Atlanta. He, during their interaction, went on to ask him to stop starting those rumors by the end of every season that he’s going to leave Oxford.
“What’s really good, though, is when, about week ten, and you always say, like, ‘Well, I think he’s taking this job’ and then like the players and all the fans are mad, so,” said Kiffin. “Can we not do that again this year?”
Kiffin has been a rumored candidate in each of the past two offseasons with the open, or believed to soon be open. Finebaum defended himself in those instances by saying he was just listening to those respective fanbases while pairing it with his thought that he wasn’t ever going to stay long-term at Ole Miss. However, the coach was glad to refute that opinion by Finebaum.
“I don’t go out there and just manufacture jobs for Lane Kiffin. The fans there wanted you…But I never believed you would stay at Ole Miss,” Finebaum said
“Proved you wrong,” jabbed Kiffin.
