Win Case addresses his interest in Ole Miss' full-time coaching job

Ole Miss interim head coach Win Case has had a solid start to his tenure leading the Rebels. He led them to a victory in his first game before they played the SEC’s No. 2 team Texas A&M tough and lost by only eight points.
However, when asked after the Aggies game about whether he is interested long-term in the head coaching role at Ole Miss, Case did not want to get into that can of worms.
“I definitely don’t want to talk about that,” Case said. “I do want to say this. I appreciate our AD, Keith Carter, for giving me this opportunity. I look at this as a great opportunity. I thanked him after the ballgame. A lot of ideas want to go this way, want to go that way but he chose me to be the interim coach. That’s all I’m thinking about right now. That’s all I’m thinking about.”

Win Case discusses Kermit Davis’ love for Ole Miss
Ole Miss won its first game under Win Case last Saturday with a victory over LSU. It was a big win for the Rebels, both in terms of the standings but also just as a cathartic release after a long previous day with the Davis decision coming out.
After the win, Case took time out of his press conference to talk about the impact of Davis on the program.
“First, I just want to start off just saying a little bit about Coach Davis,” Case said after the game. “I get emotional just thinking about it. I’ve never in my life seen a guy that works as hard as he does. He’s a great man. He’s a great coach. Bottom line, we didn’t win ball games. I know he understood that. But the thing that I want to say is this. The love that he has for Ole Miss is amazing. Within two or three hours of knowing he wasn’t going to be retained for next year, he’s on the phone call with recruits telling them that they need to still come to Ole Miss because Ole Miss has a special place. I second that motion. I second it because I know how special this place is. But the bottom line is we didn’t win enough ball games, and he understands that. He definitely understands that. But he will definitely continue to root for Ole Miss.”
