Oregon transfer forward Mookie Cook commits to San Francisco out of Transfer Portal

Oregon transfer forward Mookie Cook has committed to San Francisco out of the NCAA Transfer Portal, according to On3’s Joe Tipton. Cook will have three years of eligibility remaining.
The 6-foot-7 Cook played in 29 games over two years, averaging 1.1 points in 4.6 minutes per contest with the Ducks. Cook missed the first 13 games of his first season in Eugene recovering from offseason ankle surgery, then appeared in five Pac-12 games before re-aggravating the injury and missing the rest of the year.
He came back in 2024-25 healthier but struggled to break into the Ducks rotation and appeared in just 24 of their 35 games. The injury-riddled start to his career has derailed one of the top high school prospects in the country in the Class of 2023.
Cook, originally from Jefferson (Ore.), chose the Ducks over Gonzaga, Kentucky, USC and dozens of others. He was also considered a Top 40 prospect nationally by every major recruiting services and was honored as both a McDonald’s All-American and Iverson Classic participant.

He was an early pledge to Dana Altman and Co. before re-opening his recruitment in July 2022. Cook also briefly considered playing professionally right after high school, but eventually re-committed to the Ducks. In addition to his on-court exploits, he was also cast to play a young LeBron James in the movie Shooting Stars.
Oregon guard Jadrian Tracey enters NCAA transfer portal
Cook joined fellow Oregon guard Jadrian Tracey to enter the NCAA Transfer Portal since the end of the season. As a redshirt junior during the 2024-25 season, Tracey averaged 6.9 points, 2.8 rebounds and 1.7 assists across 35 games. He started 16 of those matchups and averaged 21.3 minutes per game for the Ducks.
His first season in Eugene came in 2023-24, and he was slightly more productive given he started 22 of the 36 games he appeared in that season. Before arriving on campus at Oregon, he played two seasons at Saint Joseph’s but only played in 22 games during that span. As a sophomore during his final year with the program, Tracey played in just two games with the Hawks that year before transferring to Florida SouthWestern.
