Colorado transfer running back Isaiah Augustave committed to South Carolina, he announced via social media. He previously committed to Virginia out of the transfer portal before re-opening his recruitment late last month.

Augustave officially entered the transfer portal April 16 and announced his commitment to Virginia April 20. On May 21, he announced he de-committed from UVA and would be re-opening his portal recruitment.

Now, Augustave will head to South Carolina, giving Shane Beamer and Co. a major boost as the program waits for an update on Rahsul Faison’s situation. He is seeking a waiver from the NCAA and hired prominent attorney Darren Heitner to represent him.

Augustave arrived at CU last season from Arkansas and immediately became a key part of the rushing attack. He led the program with 384 rushing yards and four touchdowns as Colorado used a pass-heavy offense en route to an 8-4 overall record and Alamo Bowl appearance. He also added nine receptions for 53 yards.

Prior to his arrival in Boulder, Augustave spent one year at Arkansas as a freshman. He appeared in 11 games and made one start, totaling 202 yards and a touchdown on 35 carries. He also had 101 yards against FIU that year.

Augustave played high school football at Naples (Fla.), where he was a four-star prospect. He was the No. 298 overall player and No. 19-ranked running back from the 2023 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.

After entering the transfer portal, Isaiah Augustave came in as the No. 58-ranked running back in the On3 Industry Transfer Rankings. He will have two years of eligibility remaining.

Augustave’s commitment comes as South Carolina seeks an answer in Faison’s case for a waiver. A former JUCO transfer, he’s seeking one more year of eligibility under the provision granted to Vanderbilt quarterback Diego Pavia and others as part of a court ruling.

Speaking on local radio late last month, Beamer said it’s still a waiting game for South Carolina. It’s still unclear when exactly a decision will come down.

“It’s unfortunate,” Beamer said on 107.5 The Game. “Every time I hear through the grapevine that we should know something in the next day or two, it never happens. And what’s today, Friday, I think Tuesday, I heard we should know something in the next couple of days. And here we are Friday and we’ve heard nothing. So nothing right now.”
