South Carolina receiver Ahmarean Brown has declared for the 2024 NFL Draft, he announced Sunday evening on Instagram. Brown spent the past three seasons with the Gamecocks after transferring from Georgia Tech in 2021.

Over his five-year college career with the Gamecocks and Yellow Jackets, Brown recorded 92 catches for 1,136 yards and nine touchdowns. He finished third on the team this past season with 26 catches for 265 yards and a touchdown despite playing in only nine games.

“These past three years have been some of the best of my life,” Brown wrote in his post. “I couldn’t thank you guys enough for the countless encouragement, cheers and laughter you have brought into my life. Those moments in Willy B will be something I’ll remember forever. I also want to thank Georgia Tech for all they’ve done for me and having a hand in me becoming the person and player I am today.

“…With that being said, I will be declaring for the 2024 NFL Draft. Can’t wait to go and live out a dream I’ve had since a kid. Forever to thee!”

As a recruit out of Jefferson High School in Tampa, Brown was a three-star recruit. He ranked as the No. 608 overall player and No. 89 receiver in the 2019 cycle according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.

The 2024 NFL Draft will be held in Detroit, Michigan, with the first round on Thursday, April 25, the second and third rounds on Friday, April 26, and the fourth through seventh rounds on Saturday, April 27.

Players will have the opportunity to solidify their draft stock at the 2024 NFL Scouting Combine, to be held in Indianapolis, Indiana from February 26 through March 4.

The three-day event will be broadcasted throughout the weekend on ESPN and NFL Network.

To be eligible for the NFL Draft, players must be at least three years removed from their final year of high school while having used up their collegiate eligibility. Underclassmen are able to request league approval to become eligible for the draft, as are players who have graduated prior to using up all of their collegiate eligibility.

Last season, 69 players were granted special eligibility for the 2023 NFL Draft. 13 underclassmen who had completed their college degrees were also deemed eligible to be selected.

The deadline to declare for the 2024 NFL Draft is on January 15. NFL teams will receive a full list of eligible players in the class on January 19.
