Radarious Jackson injury update: Josh Heupel rules out Tennessee WR, provides timeline

The Tennessee Volunteers dropped a heartbreaker to the Georgia Bulldogs on Saturday. Unfortunately, the game wasn’t the only thing they lost, with wide receiver Radarious Jackson going down with an injury. Now, it looks like he could miss some time.
Head coach Josh Heupel shared what he was able to on Radarious Jackson during the weekly SEC Teleconference on Wednesday. There, he ruled Jackson out for the UAB game. He’d also set a timeline for looking at that injury, which Heupel did not share specifics about, down the line.
“I don’t have a full update here,” Josh Heupel said. “Obviously, you guys can pay attention to injury reports that come out, although it may not this week. He’ll be out for this game and we’ll kind of see where he’s at the following week.”
Radarious Jackson is a freshman wide receiver for Tennessee who joined the Volunteers as a four-star recruit in the Class of 2025. A Memphis native, he played his high school football at Sheffield. There, he was the 226th-ranked player nationally and the 30th-ranked wide receiver.
In his three games, Radarious Jackson has four receptions for 40 yards. Three of those would come in the win over East Tennessee State. He also had a reception against Georgia, as he has been continuing to earn playing time and trust from Josh Heupel. However, he would get injured in that game and now is going to need to battle back from the injury.

At this point in the season, Tennessee has three receivers with more yards in the passing game than Radarious Jackson. That’s a group that includes Chris Brazzell, Braylon Staley, and Mike Matthews. Outside of the receivers, tight end Miles Kitselman and running back Desean Bishop are fourth and fifth on the team in receiving yards.
Josh Heupel updates timeline of Jermod McCoy, Jaxson Moi, Daevin Hobbs
Radarious Jackson isn’t the only injured Tennessee Volunteer. Earlier in the week, Josh Heupel shared updates on defensive back Jermod McCoy, defensive lineman Jaxson Moi, and defensive lineman Daevin Hobbs as well.
“I don’t know the timeline on Jermod. I say that meaning he’s gotten started back on the field. How his body responds and also being ready to go play and compete are all things that he’s got to continue to prepare for. He wants to be out there and he’s been a great teammate. He’s done a great job in his rehab and so has his medical team. It’s all about how we can get him prepared to actually go out there and play,” Heupel said.
“Moi is day-to-day and Hobbs continues to do a really good job in his rehab. How fast that progresses here… I can’t give you an answer today. But he’s done a really good job and hopefully we’ll have him back soon too.”
