Kyler Murray is forever engraved in Oklahoma football history, leading the Sooners to the College Football Playoff and winning a Heisman Trophy. His career did not begin in Norman, however, as Murray initially committed to Texas A&M out of high school.

Both schools have a special place in the quarterback’s heart.

Outside of football, Murray was associated with both baseball programs and now, the two are facing off in the College World Series. Murray was in attendance for Friday’s game and talked about where his allegiance lies between the two programs. While Texas A&M means a lot to him, at the end of the day, he is hoping for an Oklahoma win.

“I went to A&M so it’s kind of ironic we’re playing them,” Murray said. “They were playing the fight song and it’s like ingrained in my head. Ever since I was a kid, my Dad going there — I kind of know it like the back of my hand. But I told the (Oklahoma) guys they have to get this one for me.”
