Caden Sorrell hits walk-off bomb vs. South Carolina, dons Masters green jacket and walks off ESPN interview

You can tell that it’s the week of The Masters early in April. You can tell elsewhere in the sports world as well, including last night in College Station.
Texas A&M won 8-7 over South Carolina in an extra inning during the first game of their conference series on Thursday night with a walk-off home run from Caden Sorrell. That earned him a green jacket, in Aggieland rather than Augusta, as A&M had been celebrating with one throughout the game in the dugout.
Following the win on ESPNU, Sorrell obviously got the postgame interview after his winning swing of the bat. After ending up with a putter, the broadcast wanted to see his putt as well with him doing so in walk-off fashion too.
Texas A&M and South Carolina, both towards the bottom half of the league standings, played a pretty even game through nine besides a five-run inning, thanks to a grand slam from Blake Binderup that also won him a green jacket, at the bottom of the third for the Aggies. That got them to the extra where the Gamecocks had three strikeouts while Sorrell, the first batter of the inning facing his first pitch, went the distance to win it for A&M.

Only one actual green jacket will be handed out later this weekend at the conclusion of the 89th edition of The Masters. However, after last night, the Aggies hope to put one on a few more times considering how their opener went against the Gamecocks.
