Jimbo Fisher admits he is 'possibly' considering quarterback change after upset loss
The Texas A&M Aggies might be facing a quarterback change in the future, according to comments made by Jimbo Fisher after Saturday’s loss. The No. 6-ranked Aggies fell to Appalachian State in a 17-14 loss, in one of the most incredible upsets of the early college football season.
Aggies quarterback Haynes King struggled throughout the game, finishing with just 97 yards passing in the loss. King struggled early with a fumble that led to the first Appalachian State score of the game, and never found a rhythm on offense.
Jimbo Fisher discussing possible quarterback change
The brutal outing and outcome of the game for Texas A&M’s College Football Playoff chances did not go unnoticed by Fisher, who admitted after the game that he will consider his options at quarterback.
“Asked if he’ll consider giving another quarterback a chance, Texas A&M coach Jimbo Fisher says ‘Possibly. We’ll evaluate everything,'” shared The Athletic‘s Sam Khan Jr.

Fisher went on to answer whether or not the Aggies considered benching King during the game before losing — indicating that a change might have happened if they had found themselves with the ball again.
“We were, but we never had the ball. If we had got more possessions, maybe so,” said Fisher via TexAgs.
King and the offense weren’t the only part of the Aggies’ struggles on Saturday as the Mountaineers dominated the game in time of possession. The Aggies and King only had possession of the ball for 18:31 of game time by the end of the game. The Aggies offense was outgained by Appalachian State 305 to 186 yards.
The Aggies’ issues keeping possession of the ball were exacerbated by bad field position throughout the game as well. With only 38 offensive plays run in the entire game by Texas A&M, only six plays were run on Appalachian State’s side of the field.
