Johnny Manziel praises Jimbo Fisher, wishes him well amid Texas A&M's decision to part ways with head coach

Johnny Manziel is as big as it gets at Texas A&M, and he’s chiming in on their biggest news in quite some time, as Jimbo Fisher will no longer coach the Aggies.
It was revealed Fisher and the school would be parting ways, following Texas A&M’s victory over Mississippi State in Week 11. Evidently, an extended period of unfulfilled potential and diminishing returns led to Fisher being out of the gig.
After the news was made official, the former Aggies star and Heisman Trophy winning quarterback made sure to thank Fisher for his contributions to the program, and treating Manziel well during his tenure, wishing the now-former Texas A&M coach nothing but the best in his future endeavors.
“Been sitting on this for a couple days but I have to say it. In my experiences Jimbo Fisher allowed me to immerse myself in the @AggieFootball program from the very first day on the job,” Manziel posted on X, formerly known as Twitter. “I thank you for allowing me to spend time in the building with the guys and treating me with the utmost respect. Thank you for all that you’ve done for our university.
“Wish you nothing but the best in your future endeavors Coach (thumbs-up emoji) #GigEm.”
Alas, Johnny Manziel is giving Jimbo Fisher a warm goodbye, but not everyone in College Station will be saddened to see him go. Nevertheless, Manziel remains confident that Texas A&M can find their next head coach, and be more than successful, and he’s lending himself in anyway possible.
“I have faith in the @TAMU leadership to put somebody in place to get us to where we need to be. The pieces for success are in the building. However I can help in any capacity I would love nothing more,” Manziel added.
Coach Johnny Manziel? Probably not, but you never know. That’d be fun. We’ll see what the future has in store for the Aggies.

Coach Prime has taken Boulder, Colorado by storm as the leader of the Buffaloes, and Smith wants to see Sanders with the embarrassment of resources the Aggies have. There’s been a litany of names thrown out since it was announced Fisher was out, but Sanders would create by far the most buzz.
The ESPN analyst is clamoring for it, among others. He joined the set of Get Up on Monday to share his thoughts on Sanders to College Station.
“That’s what I’ve been saying, Deion Sanders in the SEC,” Smith exclaimed. “With that vault that they have available to them. Them hogs that he could recruit. He doesn’t have them at Colorado, and he ain’t going to get them. Deion Sanders.
“I don’t think they’ll do it. Texas A&M. Primetime, Deion Sanders in the SEC? That needs to happen.”
There’s several reasons why Deion Sanders would make sense for Texas A&M. Even with recent struggles, Colorado is significantly better in his first season than it was before he got there. On top of that, he also has deep ties to the state of Texas. Sanders both played there and coached there at the high school level.
Texas A&M will certainly have more candidates to replace Fisher than Stephen A. Smith mentioned. However, it’s interesting to see Sanders as one of the early names being tied to one of the SEC’s top jobs.
