Texas A&M running back Le’Veon Moss has exited Saturday’s game against South Carolina after suffering a hard hit in the first quarter. Moss injured his right leg after taking the hit on the play prior.

The running back was taken to the injury tent before being helped to the locker room. Amari Daniels and EJ Smith are the other two running backs next up on the depth chart.

Sideline reporter Molly McGrath offered an update on the status of Moss shortly after the injury. Eventually, he had to be carted off.

“Aggies running back Le’Veon Moss still in the injury tent, being evaluated for a right knee injury,” she said. “Aggies players very concerned. Marcel Reed walked off the field and right to the injury tent to check on him. Then numerous players walked in and out of the tent to check on Moss. I have never seen so many people crammed into an injury tent. The concern is palpable, guys. I’m told A&M has called for a cart down here on the sideline.”

Moss has been the premier player offensively for the Aggies this season as they sit atop the SEC standings as the only undefeated team in conference play. He has totaled 757 yards rushing and 10 touchdowns along with nine catches for 121 yards.

Coming out of halftime, Aggies coach Mike Elko revealed that Moss would miss the remainder of the game. Texas A&M would go on to lose to South Carolina by a score of 44-20 as it score no points the entire second half.

Moss did come back to the sideline but was dressed in street clothes, indicating he was done for the evening.

Questions immediately popped up about Moss’ long-term future as the Aggies are still in contention. Head coach Mike Elko provided an update following the game, saying the injury is not as bad as initially thought on the field. Definitely good news for Texas A&M but nothing official has come from the program quite yet.

“It doesn’t look as bad as it did on the field,” Elko said via TexAgs on X.
