Le'Veon Moss injury update: Mike Elko shares status of Texas A&M RB vs. Texas
Texas A&M running back Le’Veon Moss injured his leg on Oct. 11 during the Aggies’ win over Florida. He has not played since.
Aggies head coach Mike Elko provided a grim outlook on the senior’s status for Saturday against Texas. His answer was short and sweet.
“We’ll see,” Elko said. “Probably not, but we’ll see.”
While Moss has missed over a month of action at this point, he was healthy for the first six games of Texas A&M’s 2025 campaign. During that stretch, Moss totaled 70 rushing attempts for 389 yards and six touchdowns while averaging 5.6 yards per carry along the way.
His best performance came against Auburn when he was given 21 rushing attempts for 139 yards and a touchdown. Moss has been a big-time performer for the Aggies all season, including a stellar three-touchdown performance in a 41-40 win over Notre Dame on the road.
Moss was on his way to having another big game against Florida before he was injured. He was given five rushing attempts, which he took for 46 yards and a touchdown. Moss has been rehabbing ever since, and Elko hinted earlier this month that he’s progressing as expected.

“The timeline is still exactly what we anticipated from the beginning,” Elko said on Nov. 3. “It’s still too early to tell whether that’s going to move or not. So, you know, we’re hopeful that, by the end of the regular season, we’ll have a chance to get him back out there. Certainly, we feel very confident for anything beyond the end of the regular season, if that presents itself.”
At 11-0, the Aggies are in position to not only make the SEC Championship game but to be slotted as one of the top four seeds in the College Football Playoff. A win over Texas on Saturday would solidify their spot in the conference title game, which Moss could be available for if Elko’s “hopeful” timeline adds up.
That’s easier said than done, as they’re going to have to beat the Longhorns in Austin. Texas is clinging on to its College Football Playoff hopes, and a win over the undefeated Aggies would be a strong final impression on the CFP committee.
Kickoff in the Lone Star Showdown is set for Friday night at 7:30 p.m. ABC will carry the national broadcast. It’ll be played in Austin for the first time since 2010, which was the last time the Aggies beat the Longhorns.
