Mike Elko send stark warning to Texas A&M with looming release of EA Sports College Football 25

EA Sports College Football 25 releases worldwide on July 19, roughly five weeks before the start of the 2024 college football season — and right when Texas A&M head coach Mike Elko needs his guys’ focus during fall camp.
Elko is entering his 25th season coaching college football this coming year, so it’s not the first time the new Aggies headman has had to deal with a video game-related issue before.
“In full disclosure, because I’ve been a part of this before, you can’t imagine how much the release of a hot new video game can impact your football team,” Elko said, via The Eagle’s Travis Brown. “I remember going all the way back to when the second Call of Duty came out and it got released in October in the middle of one of our football seasons.
“We literally were having meetings with our defense about why it was not good to say up until four in the morning playing call of duty. We had practice at 7 o’clock the next morning.”
In the grand scheme of things, there’s no way to stop his players from playing this game. Assuming that most of Elko’s roster has opted in to being a part of the game — it’s hard to think that these athletes won’t be infatuated by what they see.

Late-night excursions deep into video games aren’t anything of the past. Anytime a new title is released or a game promotes new downloadable content, this happens anyway.
On the flip side — at least Elko’s players would be playing the game with football in mind. It’s not farfetched to assume that they would be playing as themselves on Texas A&M in Mike Elko and his staff’s scheme. At the very least, their minds would be on football.
Moreover, the franchise was defunct for over a decade after releasing NCAA Football 14 in July of 2013. Incoming 18-year-old freshmen would have been seven years old when the final game was released. Most of them have never been able to get their hands it in the first place. Although, the prices for NCAA Football 14 has plummeted from over $200 to well below standard gaming prices thanks to the new game’s release.
EA Sports College Football 25 will be available to play on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, and EA announced gamers will have three editions to pick from. The standard base game costs $69.99. The deluxe edition allows three-day early access and a slew of perks, priced at $99.99. The MVP bundle is priced at $149.99 and includes an early release for EA Sports College Football 25 and Madden. The video game will not be offered on PC.
