Texas A&M tight end Eric Karner enters NCAA transfer portal

Texas A&M tight end Eric Karner is entering the NCAA transfer portal, per On3’s Pete Nakos. He was originally expected to be a major contributor out of the Class of 2024, but that won’t come to fruition with the Aggies.
He played high school football at Immaculate Conception (Itasca, IL), where he was a four-star prospect. He was the No. 359 overall recruit in the 2024 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.
As a recruit, Karner held offers from programs like Michigan State, Florida, Alabama and Iowa. Time will tell if any of these teams come a-calling now that he’s in the portal. There’s bound to be some interest in the former coveted recruit though.

Campbell had a minor impact during his lone season with the Aggies. He appeared on special teams in the team’s win over McNeese, but did not make any other appearances.
Ernest Campbell failed to record any stats. Still, there’s plenty of potential left in the tank for the now-former Aggies pass-catcher.
Prior to enrolling at Texas A&M, Ernest Campbell was ranked as a three-star prospect and the No. 496 overall recruit in the 2024 recruiting class, according to the On3 Industry Rankings. He also checked in as the No. 78 receiver in the class and the No. 83 overall player from the state of Texas, hailing from Refugio (TX) Refugio.
