After signing with Arkansas in December, Missouri City (Texas) Ridge Point four-star wide receiver Ashton Bethel-Roman was released from his National Letter of Intent with the Razorbacks on Feb. 1.

The surprising move meant that the blue-chip wideout was now back on the board with National Signing Day right around the corner. Over the weekend, the 6-foot-0.5, 160-pounder made his way to College Station for a visit with Texas A&M.

On Monday, On3 National Recruiting Analyst Sam Spiegelman logged a pick in the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine (RPM) in favor of the Aggies landing Bethel-Roman’s pledge. A&M now has a 64% edge with a decision on deck.

The blue-chip receiver was Arkansas’ highest-ranked signee on the offensive side of the ball and a top-three prospect for Sam Pittman and Co. overall. Now, he may provide a big win on the recruiting trail late for Mike Elko and the new staff at A&M.

Bethel-Roman is the No. 225 overall prospect and No. 39 WR in the 2024 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He’s also the No. 39 player in Texas.

He has an On3 NIL Valuation of $61K. The On3 NIL Valuation is the industry’s leading index that sets high school and college athletes’ projected annual value (PAV). The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time.

Aggies looking to finish 2024 recruiting cycle on positive note

The firing of Jimbo Fisher led to plenty of recruiting losses for Elko and the Aggies down the stretch in 2023 and into 2024. Regardless, 14 prospects have signed with a couple of big decisions on the horizon.

A&M is looking to hold on to Five-Star Plus+ athlete Terry Bussey, who is set to choose between the Ags, LSU and Georgia on Wednesday morning. He is the No. 11 overall prospect in the nation.

Of the signees, League City (Texas) Clear Springs four-star interior offensive lineman Blake Ivy is the highest-ranked, checking in at No. 144 overall. Tampa Carrollwood Day four-star EDGE Solomon Williams and his high school teammate, four-star WR Izaiah Williams are also top-250 recruits.

Bethel-Roman would flank Izaiah Williams and Refugio (Texas) three-star Ernest Campbell as wideouts in the class for A&M if he were to commit and sign. A time for Bethel-Roman’s decision is yet to be announced.
