Top-60 wide receiver Johntay Cook II visiting Texas A&M

DeSoto (Tex.) wide receiver Johntay Cook II will visit Texas A&M this weekend, he announced on Twitter Tuesday afternoon.
Cook is the No. 59 player in the country, according to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He ranks as the No. 10 wide receiver in the 2023 class and the No. 9 player in the state of Texas.
As a junior this season at DeSoto, he has hauled in 24 passes for 514 yards and an eye-popping 13 touchdowns. As a sophomore in 2020, he caught 43 balls for 690 yards and 10 scores.
Texas is making a big push for Johntay Cook II
Cook has already amassed more than three dozen offers, including Alabama, Ohio State, Texas, Texas A&M, and Oklahoma. And the Longhorns have made a big push from the jump.

And on his visit last month, he came to town on the same weekend as the No. 1 overall prospect in the 2023 class, New Orleans (La.) Isidore Newman quarterback Arch Manning.

Johntay Cook II came away impressed by Texasā high-octane offense and how he could potentially fit into it. Cook took a trip to Alabama over the summer and also visited Texas A&M, which heāll see again this weekend.
