WATCH: Texas A&M 4-star CB commit Jayvon Thomas records 44-yard touchdown

Dallas South Oak Cliff four-star cornerback Jayvon Thomas is one of Texas A&M‘s top defensive prospects. However, he also can play on the offensive side of the ball.
During his Saturday playoff game against Lovejoy (Texas), Thomas took a handoff and broke multiple tackles. He proceeded to race down the right sideline for a 44-yard touchdown.
Thomas is the No. 72 overall prospect and No. 8 cornerback in the 2023 cycle, according to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He is also the No. 13 player in Texas.

Texas A&M’s group currently ranks No. 15 in the 2023 On3 Consensus Team Recruiting Rankings and No. 6 in the SEC.
Thomas has an On3 NIL Valuation of $166K. The On3 NIL Valuation is an index that looks to set the standard market value for both high school and college-level athletes. The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time.
Jayvon Thomas On3 Scouting Summary
The following is the On3 Scouting Summary for Jayvon Thomas:
“Two-way player who projects at defensive back at the next level. Played a major role at running back and corner during an historic state championship run for South Oak Cliff. Has excellent mirror ability and can play off-man, press or zone coverage. Instinctive player that shows solid long speed and ball skills. Ran 11.17 seconds in the 100 meters and 22.69 seconds in the 200 meters as well as jumping a 21’08” long jump in 2021. Has more twitch and suddenness than long speed, which is evident on special teams as a returner. High floor player that could kick inside to nickel or play field corner at the next level.”
