Arch Manning is supremely talented, but he also has an incredibe support system as he enters 2025 as the unquestioned starter for the Texas Longhorns. He can text his Uncles Peyton and Eli whenever he wants for some unsolicited advice on playing the position. That’s invaluable.

That’s exactly what he did when he was having some trouble with the two-minute drill this summer. Arch revealed the advice his Uncle Peyton gave him while speaking with the media at the Manning Passing Academy in Thibodaux, Louisiana.

“I threw a pick during the two-minute drill this summer, so I texted Peyton and asked if he had any advice on how to get better in the two-minute. It ended up being like a thirty-minute voicemail,” the Texas quarterback stated.

“The main thing was to start with a completion, have plays you like, tempo, have everyone know the situation. You know, don’t speed up too much. It’s two-minute, but you’ve still got to take your regular drop and stuff like that.”

You can’t beat some free advice like that. It’s evident that Arch has his family behind him as he takes the next step in his football journey, and he can go to them at any time. It’ll certainly help make him a better quarterback in the future.

While he’s taking lessons from his family, Manning is also studying some of the NFL’s best. Later, the 21-year-old Longhorns superstar identified several NFL quarterbacks he regularly monitors for ways to improve his own game.

“I watch a lot of Joe Burrow and Josh Allen, those are my guys,” Manning said. “Obviously, (PatrickMahomes. I like to take bits and pieces from everyone and I like watching the other guys, the other great (quarterbacks).”

Allen and Burrow, as well as Mahomes, are among the NFL’s best at their position, so it’s no surprise Manning likes to model his game after each of them. Allen is coming off his first MVP season after combining for 40 total touchdowns (28 passing, 12 rushing) while tying for the NFL lead with a 77.3 QBR. Burrow, meanwhile, led the NFL in passing with 4,918 yards and 43 touchdowns with a 74.7 QBR in 2024.

“I remember watching Josh Allen here, when he was at Wyoming, throw it 75 yards. It’s cool to see where he’s at now,” Manning added. “That’s right. Yeah. Joe Burrow has all the swag and style, (so) I don’t know if I have as much as him.”

Regardless, Arch Manning isn’t trying to be the next Peyton or Eli, or even Josh Allen or Joe Burrow. He wants to be the first Arch Manning. We’ll see if that’s good enough to bring a national title to Texas in 2025.
