Emmanuel Acho blasts Texas after loss to Georgia, says CFP hopes are over

Emmanuel Acho couldn’t believe what he watch Saturday as Texas fell against Georgia. The former Longhorns linebacker took to social media to vent his frustrations after the 35-10 defeat against the Bulldogs.
Acho did not hold back, laying into Texas for the poor performance in multiple different areas. But what makes this loss sting even more is that the team was the way the Longhorns gave up the game at the end.
Despite entering the fourth quarter trailing 14-10 and with the game still in reach, the Longhorns were outscored 21-0 in the final 15 minutes. Acho argued that if they had kept the game more competitive, they might have been able to keep their College Football Playoff hopes alive.
“I’m sick. Texas fans, you gotta be sick,” Emmanuel Acho said. We got outcoached, we got outplayed, we got outsmarted, we got outschemed, we got out-everything. The onside kick, they recovered that joint. They run the ball down our throat and we just sit there and take it. We can’t handle pre-snap motion. We can’t catch the ball. But here’s the worst part: we could’ve lost to Georgia and still made the playoffs had we lost close.
“Because a three-loss Texas team is the first is the first team to make the College Football Playoff with three losses. Why? Because we played Ohio State closer than anybody. We lost to Ohio State by seven. Ohio State just beat an opponent 70-0. They beat a ranked team 34-17 and they barely beat Texas. Texas still would’ve made the playoff had they lost close. But getting beat down? Sh*t. All we had to do was lose close. Come on.”

Texas entered this week at No. 10 in the College Football Playoff rankings, narrowly making the 12-team field as an at-large team. However, this loss is sure to drop them down a few spots.
Adding insult to injury is the fact that the Longhorns’ biggest rival, Oklahoma notched a win against No. 4 Alabama this week. The Sooners were right behind Texas at No. 11 in the rankings and should jump ahead of them to replace them in the field.
We’ll have to wait and see just how far the Longhorns fall, but this appears to be the end of their hopes to make the CFP. They play Arkansas next week before closing out the season against No. 3 Texas A&M, perhaps their last chance to prove themselves to the committee.
