FOX analyst compares 'tanking' Arch Manning stock to Cracker Barrel rebrand

Fox Sports’ Jason McIntyre ripped Arch Manning and compared him to the tanking stop of Cracker Barrel. In case you missed it, Manning struggled in Texas’ loss to Ohio State and the chain restaurant and country story changed their logo and watched their stock dip.
Of course, the logo was changed back to its original, more creative look. Maybe that’s what will happen with Manning, going back to basics and stepping up during the next game.
But safe to say, he’ll be hearing it all week until Texas wins. McIntyre was the latest to throw shots.
“There are a couple of positives to build on, not many, not many. But I saw a stock tanking like Cracker Barrel on Saturday in the state of Ohio, it was not good for Arch Manning,” McIntyre said on The Herd. “Texas ultimately loses what was kind of a close, ugly game. 14-7, 26 yards passing in the first half, 38 yards passing entering the fourth, I didn’t see a lot of changes in the second half. Sure, there was some chuck and duck in the fourth, down two scores to make it mildly interesting.

“But a lot of that had to do with Ohio State being unable to do anything against the Texas defense, which is outstanding. I mean, the Buckeyes offense did nothing. That’s the only reason this was a close game. I mean, folks for the hype around this game, and I get it, ‘Jay, he’s a young quarterback,’ guys, can we stop with that? He’s been in the Sark system for two years. He’s 21, this is not some freshman starting out … I saw no Manning traits, of course, uncles Peyton and Eli legends, Hall of Famers … But they would make great pre snap reads, they would make anticipation throws, tight window throws, poise in the pocket, great mechanics. I didn’t see any of that from Arch.”
Manning finished 17-of-30 passing for 170 yards, one touchdown and one interception. He was limited to 38 rushing yards on 10 carries as well.
“This was a spectacular failure on every level for Arch Manning and Texas, and there’s no positive way to spin it,” McIntrye said. “Steve Sarkisian tried … But folks, I vow, after watching Arch Manning Saturday struggle, 26 passing yards in the first half. Okay, I watched him miss guys open all day. I vow never again to talk about Arch Manning as the number one overall pick until he actually, you know, shows us something. Okay, and I’m rooting for Arch.”
