The back half of January is shaping up to be big for Texas and its 2025 class recruiting efforts.

With a bevy of prospects already expected to be in Austin on Jan. 20, New Iberia (La.) Westgate four-star cornerback Jaboree Antoine announced on Tuesday night that he is also set to make the trip to the Lone Star State.

Antoine made multiple trips to The Forty Acres in 2023 and is now set for his first in 2024. He included the Longhorns in his top eight schools on Christmas Day, alongside Alabama, Tennessee, Georgia, Miami, Texas A&M, LSU and Michigan.

“Coach (Terry) Joseph and Coach Sark were so excited to see me and showed mad love,” Antoine told Inside Texas after a visit at the beginning of September. “What stood out to me was when I talked with them, they said: ‘We are not afraid to play freshmen no matter where you’re from, how you look. We play the best players, so if you come in balling you will play.’ You saw a lot of freshmen that were balling.”

LSU leads for Antoine in the On3 RPM

The Tigers are the hottest team on the recruiting trail to kick off the new year. LSU now has pledges from the top-ranked quarterback, running back and wide receiver following a commitment from No. 1 overall prospect and Five-Star Plus+ QB Bryce Underwood over the weekend.

LSU currently has the edge for Antoine in the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine (RPM). LSU insider Shea Dixon recently pointed to Antoine as one of the Tigers’ top targets in 2025 moving forward.

Jaboree Antoine in Louisiana is the No. 3 corner in the country,” Dixon said on The Inside Scoop. “If there’s a position LSU would really, really love to land a guy at that’s kind of a five-star caliber guy, in addition to who they have, it would be at corner. Antoine from 45 minutes down the road here in Baton Rouge — that’s your backyard, you should be able to lock up a guy like that. That’ll be priority No. 1.”

Antoine is the No. 44 overall prospect in the 2025 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. On3 ranks Antoine much higher than other recruiting services, as he checks in as the No. 19 recruit and No. 3 CB in the 2025 On300.

He has an On3 NIL Valuation of $81K. The On3 NIL Valuation is the industry’s leading index that sets high school and college athletes’ projected annual value (PAV). The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time.
