Quinn Ewers addresses questions on future at Texas, 2025 season

For the second season in a row, quarterback Quinn Ewers has led the Texas Longhorns to the College Football Playoff. Amid all of that success, there have been some questions about his future and the 2025 season.
Now, ahead of Texas hosting a Playoff game against Clemson, Ewers has addressed some of the questions about his future with the Longhorns.
“I’m not sure yet, I’m just trying to win these games,” Quinn Ewers told reporters. “I haven’t thought about anything beyond that.”
Quinn Ewers will still have eligibility at the college level following this season. That is going to give him a few different options. First, he could remain at Texas where he would presumably still have the opportunity to start. However, he does have the option to declare for the NFL Draft or even transfer to a new school.
This comes after it was recently reported that Quinn Ewers had the NFL Draft on his mind for next season. Last Friday, it was reported that he would declare for the draft following the end of the season, prompting more questions about his future in Austin.

ESPN NFL Draft analyst Mel Kiper Jr. recently ranked Quinn Ewers as sixth among quarterbacks who could potentially enter the NFL Draft.
If Texas were to lose Quinn Ewers, the Longhorns feel confident in their backup quarterback to step in and succeed. Arch Manning was one of the highest rated recruits to ever come out of high school and signed with the Longhorns as a five-star recruit in the Class of 2023, according to the On3 Industry Ranking. Now, after two seasons of development, he will presumably step in to replace Ewers when the time does come.
For the time being, however, Ewers is working to keep the focus on the task at hand. That’s the game against Clemson on Saturday. With a win, the Longhorns will advance in the College Football Playoff. A loss, however, would accelerate the timeline for Ewers to make a decision about his future.
