Steve Sarkisian and Texas enjoyed a ton of offensive success in the first half against Kentucky. But the ESPN broadcast did point out a limp for quarterback Quinn Ewers after being tackled. Right before the halftime break, Ewers went back into the locker room ahead of his teammates.

Coming out for the second half, Sarkisian did provide an update to sideline reporter Katie George. Apparently, there is nothing to be worried about moving forward. Ewers got rolled up on and will continue to be out there for the Longhorns.

“As for Quinn Ewers, I spoke to Steve Sarkisian,” George said. “He said ‘He’s fine, he got rolled up on. It’s just football.'”

Injuries have been a problem for Ewers this season, missing multiple games due to an oblique problem. Arch Manning was there to replace him as Texas did not skip a beat offensively. But once fully healed, Sarkisian went back to Ewers and stayed true to the third-year starter ever since.

The same can be said about the situation on Saturday, even if Ewers has a noticeable limp. Sarkisian believes the quarterback can play through it and lead Texas to the finish line. Ewers did walk during Senior Day ahead of kickoff, potentially signaling this being his final game in front of the home crowd.

No matter the injury situation, getting Ewers 100% healthy will be Texas’ biggest priority moving forward. A massive showdown against Texas A&M is set to take place next week in College Station. If they hold on for a win against Kentucky, a spot in the SEC Championship will be on the line against the in-state foes.

Priority No. 1 is making sure business is taken care of from Darrell K Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium. Kentucky itself is making a quarterback change, benching Brock Vandagriff for true freshman Cutter Boley. Head coach Mark Stoops is hoping for an offensive spark to ignite a come-from-behind win.

An important 30 minutes upcoming for both teams in Austin.
