In order to make the championship round at the Women’s College World Series, Texas was going to have to pull off a comeback against Oklahoma State. Down two in the top of the fifth inning, the chaos finally occurred, as the Longhorns took the lead over the Cowgirls.

Bella Dayton stepped up to the plate with two on and just one out. After hitting one through the gap and into right field, a bobble caused one Texas run to score. However, an errant throw by Oklahoma State’s Hayley Busby saw the ball go back into the outfield. The Longhorns took advantage and added two more runs.

As expected, the Texas dugout was going crazy and ready to celebrate with their teammates. Fans in attendance in Oklahoma City were just as excited in the stands as the WCWS produces another magical moment.

There are still two innings to play in Oklahoma City, as the two Big 12 foes will exchange blows against one another before the final pitch. Already producing a chaotic moment, there’s no telling what’s coming next in the madness.

After Oklahoma State swept the regular-season series and won a conference tournament matchup, it’s been Texas with the advantage at the Women’s College World Series. Before even playing in this game, the Longhorns had to win earlier in the night. Now, they hold the advantage late and will be hoping to hold on.

Oklahoma is on the other side, waiting for their opponent in the championship series. Either way, it’s going to be a rivalry matchup to determine the national title — Bedlam or the Red River Rivalry. College softball has produced all season and ending the year with one of those two matchups would be a fairytale not even Hollywood could have scripted.
