Having already brought in a top-100 quarterback in the 2025 class, Texas is off to a hot start in the cycle. Now, the Longhorns are trending for Santa Ana (Calif.) Mater Dei four-star running back Jordon Davison.

According to the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine (RPM), Texas has a 78.1% chance of receiving Davison’s commitment. USC trails in a distant second at 17.1%.

Texas senior recruiting analyst Gerry Hamilton entered an expert prediction for the Longhorns to land Davison with a confidence level of 70%. Previously, On3 Director of Recruiting Chad Simmons entered a Texas pick in April while Texas recruiting insider Justin Wells entered one of his own in July.

Davison connection with Texas ‘grows every day’

“Davison has made three unofficial visits to Texas since April of 2022,” Hamilton wrote. “In each of those visits, he has grown more comfortable with the thought of playing football and being a student at the University of Texas. Throughout those visits, Davison has also built a tight relationship with running backs coach Tashard Choice. The success of Bijan Robinson and Roschon Johnson under Choice and in Sarkisian’s offensive scheme are key in this recruitment.”

USC and Ohio State are both in the mix for Davison as the 2025 cycle starts to pick up steam. Ohio State’s lone 2025 commitment comes from Bellefontaine (Ohio) four-star quarterback Tavien St. Clair. USC has yet to receive a commitment from any prospect in that class.

“My connection with the (Texas) staff grows every day,” Davison told Inside Texas in March. “Matter of fact, I talked to Coach Choice today. We know everything about each other and we are real close. I have a great relationship with Coach Sark off the field away from football, I currently attend the same school as (Sark’s) daughter. Coach Sark is a great person to sit down with and talk because he’s always teaching.”

Davison currently has an On3 NIL Valuation of $111,000. The On3 NIL Valuation is the industry’s leading index that sets high school and college athletes’ projected annual value (PAV). The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time.
