Diego Pavia promised Theo Von a date with mother if Vanderbilt beats South Carolina

Stand up comedian/podcast juggernaut Theo Von was spotted on the sidelines for Saturday night’s clash between No. 11 South Carolina and Vanderbilt in Columbia Saturday night. Von’s appearance however was explored more in depth, as a wild story quickly emerged regarding the comedian and Commodore quarterback Diego Pavia.
SEC Network sideline reporter Cole Cubelic revealed that Pavia actually promised Von (who resides in the Nashville area) that he would set him up on a date with his mother if Vanderbilt won. Things are certainly looking good for Von, as the ‘Dores took down Carolina 31-7.
“You don’t even want to know what (Theo) told me about Diego Pavia‘s mom,” Cubelic said. “It’s not bad. It’s not like that at all. The way that I understand this story is that if Diego Pavia wins this game, he promised you he would set you up on a date with his mom?”
With SEC Network announcers Tom Hart and Jordan Rodgers snickering in the background, Von set the record straight.

“Yes, it’s true,” Von said. “My goal is I’d like to marry a nurse someday so that’s why. He was telling me about that. I like being his friend, so I don’t want to end up being like his stepdad or something. We’ll see what happens.”
South Carolina was trailing 14-7 near the end of the first half when quarterback LaNorris Sellers exited the game after taking a big hit. Vanderbilt linebacker Langston Patterson, who made the hit on Sellers, was ejected for targeting.
With Sellers absent for the entirety of the second half, Vanderbilt rattled off 17 unanswered points to cement the 24-point victory. It opens SEC play with a win for the first time since 2011 and more importantly earns Von a date with Pavia’s mother.
