National Championship Odds: Betting favorites see shakeup after Week 6 of college football

The latest national championship odds are here and they saw a shakeup following Week 6 of college football. All odds are courtesy of BetMGM.
Texas and Penn State took big hits due to their upset losses while other teams rose up the ranks. Just think, we are only halfway through the college football season so a lot can change.
Without further ado, let’s dive into the latest national championship odds. We’ll start with the favorite.
Ohio State (+425)
Ohio State is still the favorite to win the national championship this year after another dominant win. The Buckeyes are 5-0 and look like good candidates to repeat.
Julian Sayin has seamlessly become the next star QB of Ohio State, the defense is swarming all over the field and Ryan Day is cruising. When will this team lose?
Oregon (+500)

Oregon had a bye week but they came off a win over Penn State on the road in overtime. With the way they’ve dominated everyone else, it’s hard not to consider the Ducks a top national championship contender.
Dante Moore looks like a Heisman favorite right now as well while Oregon’s defense does the rest. This team is the total package at the moment.
Alabama (+700)
The Crimson Tide knocked off Vanderbilt at home to ruin a perfect season for Diego Pavia and the Commodores. It seems like Alabama got right after Week 1’s loss to Florida State.
All hope was lost but now this looks like a national championship caliber program again. Kalen DeBoer, Ty Simson, Jam Miller and the defense have this team rolling.
Miami (+800)
Miami beat Florida State to claim the Sunshine State crown. FSU had a late rally in the fourth quarter, but the Hurricanes remained perfect.
With the way they’ve won in a variety of spots, Mario Cristobal and company can certainly win a national championship. Carson Beck is also playing at a Heisman level.
Georgia (+1,000)

The Bulldogs bounced back with a win over Kentucky this past weekend and they are still within the top five of national championship contenders. Georgia will remain competitive for the top prize as long as Kirby Smart is pushing the buttons.
In the win over the Wildcats, Gunner Stockton threw for 196 yards, one touchdown, one interception and ran for 48 yards and two scores. Georgia has to head to Auburn next weekend.
Oklahoma (+1,500)
The Sooners rolled back Kent State 44-0 over the weekend with QB John Mateer. Mateer might be the biggest key to Oklahoma’s national championship hopes, but Michael Hawkins is steering the ship right now.
He might have to this coming weekend against Texas too. That’ll be the biggest question mark throughout practice and game week preparation.
Texas (+1,600)
Texas still has decent national championship odds this week despite an upset loss to Florida on the road. The Longhorns are actually unranked now according to the AP Poll.

This seems more of a longshot now, but BetMGM likes them in the top 10. Despite some good stat lines, QB Arch Manning has made too many mistakes and Texas seems a shell of itself through five games.
Ole Miss (+1,800)

Ole Miss is next up when it comes to national championship contenders. The Rebels are 5-0 and rolling under Lane Kiffin.
The question is if they can sustain the success this season. Kiffin’s groups have been very talented but have fizzled in the end. Perhaps this year is different.
Texas A&M (+2,000)
The Aggies are still unbeaten on the year and are squarely in the mix for the national championship. Mike Elko has things cooking in Year 2 in College Station.
Texas A&M will host Florida this weekend after the Gators just upset Texas. Florida will be hungry, but Texas A&M can further cement national title status with another win.
Notre Dame (+2,500)
Marcus Freeman and the Fighting Irish have won three in a row since their losses to Miami and Texas A&M. Now that they’re back on the right track, Notre Dame is back in the national championship conversation.
CJ Carr has looked the part at QB and it seems like the rest of the team is rising to the occasion. Notre Dame has NC State at home this week before hosting USC.
