Former UNLV LB John Lewis, Akron CB Darrian Lewis commit to West Virginia

Former UNLV linebacker John Lewis and Akron cornerback Darrian Lewis committed to West Virginia out of the transfer portal. Both are set to bolster the Mountaineers’ defense.
John Lewis started his career at Mississippi State before transferring to UNLV in the winter portal. He’ll now suit up for West Virginia, coming in with 45 total tackles and five tackles for loss for the Bulldogs.
As a member of the Class of 2021, Lewis was a four-star recruit out of Madison (Miss.) Gemantown, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He was the No. 3 overall prospect in the state, the No. 19 linebacker in the class and the No. 167 overall prospect in the class.
West Virginia also added Darrian Lewis coming from the Zips. Over the last three years, Lewis had 202 tackles, 15 pass deflections, two interceptions, 1.5 sacks and one forced fumble.
As a member of the Class of 2021, Lewis was a three-star recruit out of Akron (Ohio) St. Vincent-St. Mary, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He was the No. 95 overall prospect in the state, the No. 177 safety in the class and the No. 2,085 overall prospect in the class.

West Virginia continues to add in portal Wednesday
West Virginia wasn’t done though. Shortly after adding John Lewis and Darrian Lewis, they landed former Mississippi State OL Carson Lee. Lee played for Colorado and Eastern Michigan, in addition to the Bulldogs.
As a member of the Class of 2020, Lee was a three-star recruit out of Englewood (Colo.) Cherry Creek, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He was the No. 6 overall prospect in the state, the No. 56 interior offensive lineman and the No. 807 overall prospect in the class.
